Parent cooperation is absolutely necessary for disciplinary action to be effective. Our philosophy of discipline seeks to encourage and develop self-discipline. We believe self-discipline is a necessity for growth and maturity, to provide an atmosphere that is both preventative and corrective in nature. As our Heavenly Father disciplines in love, so our staff will endeavor to discipline with a tender heart and Christian love. The individual who learns discipline is developing a lifestyle which encourages obedience to God.Each teacher is given the responsibility of posting and enforcing classroom rules. If a student chooses to disobey the Code of Conduct and/or the classroom rules, Belleview has multiple levels of potential consequences.

Demerit Warnings

Demerits are behavioral warnings for minor infractions of classroom/school rules. Any student that incurs five demerits within 60 days will serve a detention.

Detentions - An after-school detention may be assigned by teachers or administrators for infractions of school rules. Detentions are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 pm - 3:30 pm. To defray the cost of after-hours supervision, one-half hour detention will incur a $10.00 fine. Detentions not served will incur an additional $10.00 fine and an additional one-half hour of service time.

  • Three detentions within 90 days will warrant a letter to the student’s parents.
  • four detentions within 90 days will incur a minimum of two hours of community service.
  • five detentionS within 90 days will be grounds for 10 hours of community service or a two-day suspension and will require an administrative plan of action.

Suspension/Expulsion - Some student behaviors are so serious as to warrant immediate suspension or expulsion. These include (but are not limited to) continuous disruptive behavior, leaving campus without permission, deception, cheating, violence, substance abuse, and immoral behavior.  Each situation will be evaluated by the administration.
